Ormesino Maxi

The “Ormesini” is one of those places in Venice where anyone can feel “at home”, wrapped in a cheerful atmosphere, in which the Venetians mingle with tourists and students. A place to go to see something different and not obvious, eat low cost and see Venice in all its facets.

We were inspired by this atmosphere. Colorful, bright lights. Just like our Ormesino.

Being handmade the centerpiece is a unique item. The procedure to create this centerpiece is very complex and laborious. The first step is to compose the sequence of colors, while the second one is to create the shape. A multiple firing sequence is needed: first multicolored glass rods are meticulously cut and fused together, using opaque and transparent Murano glass in a combination of colors, blended with gold leaves. In a second firing, a mold is used to give the piece shape and form.

The final result is a glass object that shines and glitters like the “Ormesini”, one of the most beautiful waterfront of Venice.
